Geddes City Council Meeting
Monday, February 10, 2025
The monthly meeting of the Geddes City Council was held at the City Finance Office in Geddes, SD. The meeting was called to order by Mayor, Mike Krietlow, at 6:15 p.m. with the following council members present: Carol Oberbroekling, Monica Vander Pol, Andy Kok, Sue Schulte and Sandy Gant. Also present were Elli Burmeister and Donna Paulson, Finance Officer.
No established change to the agenda.
No public input.
Sue Schulte made a motion to approve the January, 2025 minutes. Andy Kok seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
January, 2025 financial reports were presented. A motion was made by Monica Vander Pol and seconded by Sandy Gant to approve these reports. Motion carried unanimously.
February, 2025 disbursements were presented. Sandy Gant made a motion to approve the February, 2025 disbursements and Carol Oberbroekling seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. Bills as followed were paid:

Old Business:
Andy Kok, Monica Vander Pol and Sandy Gant submitted the appraisal of the city lot located on Block 10.
Sue Schulte made a motion to approve the appraisal. Carol Oberbroekling seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
New Business:
Elli Burmeister met before the council to inform everyone that they have purchased the old funeral home on main street. Their plans are to make it into a 2 bedroom apartment. They are trying to obtain funding through SD Housing Authority and also through the Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources for testing for asbestos. Elli explained that a non-profit organization needs to apply and asked the city help them with the
applications. Carol Oberbroekling made a motion to approve the applications for funding and for Mike Krietlow be the authorized signor. Sue Schulte seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Proposal from Brosz Engineering, Inc. was received on the 2025 Multi-Community Surface Treatment Project and presented to the council. Brosz Engineering fee is $7750.00. There will be 35 blocks chip sealed with a total square yardage of 30,000. Sandy Gant made a motion to approve the proposal. Monica Vander Pol
seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously
No building permits received.
Andy Kok made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:48 p.m. Monica Vander Pol seconded the motion.
Motion carried unanimously.
