Geddes City Council Public Hearing

Mayor, Mike Krietlow, opened the public hearing at 7:00 p.m. with the following council members present: Sandy Gant, Andy Kok, Carol Oberbroekling, Amy Rolland, Sue Schulte and Monica Vander Pol. Also present were Tim Whalen, City Attorney, and Donna Paulson, Finance Officer.
RESOLUTION NO. 2024-01
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Geddes held a public hearing on the 12th day of August, 2024, to hear evidence and testimony in support of or opposition to a certain Petition and Consent to Vacate Street or Alley presented by Thomas A. Jaeger and Elaine M. Jaeger and the Geddes Farmers C-op; and
WHEREAS, notice of such public hearing was duly published as required by law; and
WHEREAS, it was determined by the council that it was appropriate to vacate the alley identified in the aforesaid petition; and
WHEREAS, a previous motion was made, seconded and duly passed by the City Council to grant the relief requested in the aforesaid petition.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the following alley located in the City of Geddes be and the same is hereby vacated, to-wit:
That portion of the alley running diagonally northeast to southwest between Lots One (1), Two (2), Three (3), Four (4), Five (5) and Six (6), Block 2, Johnson Brothers Land Company’s First Addition to the Town, now City, of Geddes, and Out Lots F and D, Johnson Brothers Land Company’s First Addition to the Town, now City, of Geddes, and north and south along the east side of Lots Five (5) and Six (6), Block 2, Johnson Brothers Land Company’s First Addition to the Town, now City, of Geddes, all of which is located within the City limits of Geddes, South Dakota.
RESOLVED that the City Finance Officer shall cause a copy of this resolution to be filed and recorded with the Charles Mix County Register of Deeds office and such other offices as may be required by law.
This Resolution was introduced at the regular meeting of the Geddes City Council on the 12th day of August, 2024, and was passed by the following vote:
AYES: Sue Schulte, Carol Oberbroekling, Monica Vander Pol, Sandy Gant, Andy Kok and Amy Rolland.
NAYS: None
ABSENT OR ABSTAINING: None

Carol Oberbroekling made a motion to close the public hearing at 7:16 p.m. Monica Vander Pol seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
