Introduction To The Ranking System Of Halo: Reach

Halo: Reach is a world-wide phenomenal game for Xbox. This game allows the players to compete with each other with the help of Xbox Live. Personally I think that this is really one of the best games for Xbox, because it hit two hundred million dollar in sales when it was first released.

What made Halo: Reach different from other Halo games is the rank up system. In previous Halo releases, the player will only lose and win points during the match. In the latest version, this system is changed and has improved how the players play the game. Now, players will receive credits based on their individual game performance.

These in-game credits can be used to purchase better armors and weapons that will strengthen your character. These weapons will also help you perform better in matches allowing you to get more credits to be used for future purchases.

You can also increase your rank in Halo: Reach with the help of these credits.

Every rank has their own specific icon, which will be placed beside their names. Obviously, the better rank you have, the more popular you are within the Halo community. These ranks are military-based meaning you’ll have to get Sergeant, Major, Colonel and up to General.

Unlike the system of previous Halo versions, the rank in Halo: Reach does not go down. This means that no matter how bad you play a game, you will never lose points and your rank will never go down. This provides a more consistent progress for players of Halo: Reach and is considered as one of the best features of the game.

If you would like to learn more about this game, you can try to visit forums dedicated to this game. This is a place where you can meet all the professional Halo players who are exchanging their thoughts, experiences, tips, and tricks about the game.

How To Further Improve Accuracy In Halo: Reach

If you want to further improve the accuracy of your shots in Halo: Reach, you need to make some configurations in Halo 3. If you are firing on long distance, regardless of the weapon you are using, you must slow down when shooting and take your time to reset the bloom and fire again. You cannot simply open fire on your enemy and expect that all of your bullets will hit your target.

More often than not, you will be dead before you can hit your enemy if you are a trigger happy player. Always remember that the first 2 or 3 shots are not very important, but after these three shots, you need to learn the proper timing to hit your enemy with impeccable accuracy. When you have taken down the shield of your enemies, make sure that you relax and let your bloom reset and aim for the head.

Using this method, I can kill enemies consistently with 5 or 6 shots.

Another tip that will surely enhance your accuracy is to crouch while you are shooting. Crouching will not only help you to have more accurate shots, but it will also help you have faster shots. This is a vast advantage for you, especially if your enemy hasn’t spotted you yet. This technique is also very effective if you are using an automatic fire needle rifle. If you are engaged in a 1 on 1 battle, the best thing that you can do to improve your accuracy is to jump or strafe.

And for the last tip, in case you don’t know it yet, holding the trigger of the automatic fire needle rifle longer, you will be able to shot at full speed. However, even while you are using this method, you still need to slow down and follow the first technique that I have mentioned above, let the bloom reset and fire again.

Halo: Reach – How to Gain Fast Credits

There are a few credit exploits in Reach, and Bungie has stated that these ways will not get you banned. These include the famous ONI base credit farming, and gruntpocolypse. So to start off, I will explain how the ONI base farming works.

ONI Sword Base

Load up sword base on “mission start” and set the difficulty to normal. Also set the scoring to team. Skulls will not make any difference. When the game starts, just run past all the enemies until you get inside a little garage looking area. There should be some ammo and armor lock power ups as well as a target locater. Pick up the target locater and while having it equipped, run to the back of the garage (farthest away from enemies) and this will trigger a checkpoint. When you get the checkpoint, go up until you can see a lot of enemies (without leaving the garage) and use the target designator in the middle of all these enemies. For a person that has never done this, you should receive over 100 credits per 5 seconds. There are 2 strikes in the locater, don’t waste time waiting for the second one. Just restart your checkpoint and repeat until you start getting no more credits per run.

Flawless Cowboy

This is a technique that will allow you to complete a mission and have it register as having completed a mission without dying, and completed on heroic or harder, as well as getting commendations for completing a Reach campaign mission. What you want to do is go to the mission you find easiest to complete, set the difficulty on Heroic and just get to the end (doesn’t matter if you die). When the final cutscene is in motion, hit start and save & quit. When you resume the mission, it will take about 30 seconds, but you should receive 200 credits and be returned to the main menu. Simply do this until your credits hit 0 per run.

Gruntpocolypse

This technique is different from the previous two in that you aren’t just having a easy fly-by time. You spend 7-12 minutes shooting grunts in the head working on headshot challenges and more. The best level to do this on is Corvette, simply exit the door on the left and go halfway up the ramp on your left and shoot all the enemies and try to get multikills. When ammo is low, return to the safe room and refill ammo. This one is pretty self explained. To play this mode, select cooperative > score attack on the playlist menu.

Other means of experience

I find it fast to get exp when you are playing with friends on Invasion. If you have a good enough team to stop the enemies from capturing the areas, as well as taking the objectives when it is your turn, you can literally finish a game in 5 minutes and get about 1000cr.

Alternatively, you can leave your console on all night and get exp while you sleep, but will probably take a lot of deaths. I have not tested this, but I think it may work.

Tips On Halo: Reach Rumble Pit

When playing FFA games and you don’t have a team who is there to help you, the most important thing that you need to do is to become aware of the enemies near you all the time. This is due to a very obvious reason that no one is there to tell you about the location of the enemies near you.

One of the best tips that I ever heard for FFA games is that you should play as an observer. By becoming an observer, you will be able to locate the weakest players and take them down first. Medium range weapons like DMR will help you effectively steal kills from other players. The strategy that I often do is to look for two players who are engaged with each other and wait for the right time to strike –easy double kill.

Dying is not a big deal for FFA games, but always remember that dying has a respawn time and you don’t want to waste a lot of time just to respawn.

You should not worry about your K/D unlike your TS. In you are playing FFA, you always need to be in action, and this will include you dying.

The best thing that you can do to minimize attacks on you is to stay on the edges of the map, which may not be applicable to some. This will prevent people from attacking you from behind, and will allow you to see all the enemies who are running towards you. This will allow you to focus on fewer sides of the map, while forgetting about the attacks that will come from behind you.

These are some of the tips for Halo: Reach that I can share. Just keep these things in mind, and soon enough you will become one of the best players of the game.

Understanding The New Weapons In Halo: Reach

Microsoft continues to spread the Halo saga worldwide, by releasing its latest version of the game called Halo: Reach. This latest game includes some of the best weapons from the previous version while adding other high-end weapons. Four new weapons that will make the game more entertaining were added, and I will be discussing each briefly.

The Needle Rifle has the capability to fire long and sharp projectiles towards your enemy. If you have played the beta of this game, you already know that you can find this weapon almost everywhere. The Needle Rifle is one of the best weapons against long and medium ranged enemies. A lot of snipers love this weapon because once the bullet enters the tissue of the enemy; it will explode after a few seconds.

The Focus Rifle is an added weapon to the long list of rifles in the game. This weapon can shoot long ranged beam towards your enemy, while penetrating their shield.

This weapon is battery operated and can be found beside the concrete under the bridge. The mechanisms of this rifle are still under investigation, but if you want to see its real power, try to aim for the enemy’s head.

The Plasma Launcher is a lot different and is far better than the Plasma Rifle. The rifle slows down its shooting speed once it heats up and is needed to be reloaded. This is the worst disadvantage of using the Plasma Rifle. The Launcher on the other hand only needs to be recharged. This fires high temperature bolts that haunt enemies even after the owner of the bolt is already dead.

The Grenade Launcher: M319 is capable of firing single shots, using 40mm caliber bullets. The 40mm rounds won’t explode until you release the trigger, making it one of the best weapons for ambush. Controlling the rounds of this weapon may be hard for some players, but professional can use it easily to dominate the game.

How To Get Credits Fast In Halo: Reach

Halo: Reach’s credit system has changed everyone’s perspective on Halo ranks in general. Your rank no longer depends on your skill and experience, it now depends on their new credit (cR) system. While the moreskilled players aren’t too worried about it, many inexperienced Halo players have been wondering how to get credits faster, so they can buy their armor of choice and level up extremely fast.

Some of you may have seen a Lt. Col. already and wondered, “Man, how on Earth did this guy level up so fast? He must have no life.” Well, that’s not completely true. He is probably one of those players that decided that Matchmaking wasn’t the fastest way to level up, and boy, he sure is smart!

Challenges

A vital part in earning credits is challenges. Each day, there are four new challenges that you can complete for a certain amount of credits. Each week, there is one new challenge that you can complete. Most challenges give 750+ credits, so if you complete the weekly challenge and daily challenges for every day in a week, that alone will give you a free 25,000 credits per week. Basically, you can level up and earn credits just by completing objectives that you can get while enjoying your favorite game types.

Commendations

Commendations pretty much can be earned simply by playing the game, and give great amounts of credits. To check what commendations you have earned so far, click on your GT in any lobby, then click “Service Record,” then click “Legacy,” scroll down and you should see Commendations.

The Best Way: Firefight Matchmaking

The fastest way to earn credits is playing Firefight Matchmaking, specifically Score Attack. Playing game types such as Gruntpocalypse and Sniper Attack can earn you 2,000+ credits per game, only taking 10 minutes at

max. Also, if you play Score Attack, you can pretty much choose whatever map and gametype you want, as you can choose “None of the Above” an unlimited amount of times, to reset the map/gametype selection. To maximize credit earnings, watch what commendations you need. If you decide to play Gruntpocalypse, it is recommend going for the Dome Inspector one, because headshotting Grunts is extremely easy. You can easily rake up 100+ headshots per game, and commendations give an exceptional amount of credits for basically playing the game.

That sums this guide up. Pretty much, the best way to earn credits is to play Score Attack: Gruntpocalypse, which can earn you 2,000+ credits per game!

Best Controller Settings For Halo: Reach

When playing Halo: Reach, set your sensitivity between three and six, and let your brain adapt to the sensitivity of your controls. Once you have set a particular sensitivity, stick with it as long as you are playing the game.  Professional Halo gamers use 3-5 sensitivity while playing the game because this will allow them to gain better controls of their shots.

If you tend to change your sensitivity every time you play the game, your brain will be confused, and will affect the accuracy of your shots. Having a bad game doesn’t mean that your sensitivity should be changed. All you have to do is to practice using the same speed and let your brain and fingers adapt to the speed.

Playing with sensitivity 1 or 2 will make your shots a lot slower than most of your enemies, and 3 will make you as fast as they would normally shot. I recommend that you use 4 or 5 to make you a bit faster than most of your opponents, allowing you to fire at them easier.

Sensitivity that is set above 6 will make you faster, but trust me, you won’t hit a target more than 4 out of tens shots.

Once you feel comfortable with your sensitivity, the next thing that you need to learn is how to improve the accuracy of your shots. When you are firing, avoid multiple times rapidly. One shot should be enough and let the bloom reset, then fire again. This will not only make your shots more accurate but will also help you save bullets that can be used for other enemies.

Trigger happy players are the ones who are seen dead first, and if you want to play Halo: Reach like the professionals does, you need to learn how to relax and wait for the right time to take the perfect shot that will take your enemies down in no time.

Halo: Reach Soundtrack Released

Hyped up for Halo: Reach? Well, you’ll probably be glad to know that Sumthing Else Music Works recently announced the release of the Halo: Reach Original Soundtrack featuring the original musical score for Bungie’s blockbuster composed by Martin O’Donnell and Michael Salvatori. Just in time for the Halo madness that is sweeping the industry, the Halo: Reach Original Soundtrack will be available for digital download on Sumthing Digital and iTunes to coincide with the game’s release on September 14th. The 2-disc CD set will be released on September 28th to retail outlets through Sumthing Else Music Works.

“Mike and I are pleased to be able to release the Soundtrack to Reach,” said composer Martin O’Donnell. “We’ve been composing and producing music for Bungie’s Halo universe since 1999 and this soundtrack represents the culmination of our efforts. Once again we were able to work with other composers C Paul Johnson and Stan LePard, along with recording much of this music at Studio X in Seattle with the Northwest Sinfonia and Choir. This is about 2 hours’ worth of music culled from the more than 5 hours of music actually produced for the game itself. We hope everyone enjoys listening.”

Plan on picking this up? Sound off in the comments below.

This is the moment that everyone has been waiting for. There are finally leaked Halo reach pictures! From a very reliable source, I have a confirmation that these are real leaked shots of Halo Reach being played at the Microsoft Headquarters. They are obviously still working on the beta pre-release stages but it seems to be coming along extremely well.

Here we have the main menu screen. Halo graphics in the background and simple menu buttons as always from Bungie. Nothing awesome, but its better to keep this part simple.

Not so sure what this gun is. Looks sort of like a out of control carbine with a needler welded on the front? Maybe its an add on to a needler? The warthog definitely looks detailed and awesome. Obviously Bungies has yet to spend much time on the environment. The textures of that rock in the background are of horrible quality. But hey, that gun looks sick!

Some mid-space battleing going on with what looks like an updated spartan lazer with a little flip out LCD screen. strange.. Maybe it’s just a huge HD camcorder >.<

The environment in this photo looks very detailed and nearly finished, sweet! The needler has a much needed makover as well. =]

Another much needed makeover on the battle rifle. very nice.

Looks like the famous rocker launcher updated! All of the crosshairs are looking a bit different as well. The charcter in this shot also looks very detailed and interesting.

Kind of pointless shot, but shows off the battle rifle a bit more, and is it just me or does the hand look different?

Can’t wait for the Halo Reach Mulitplayer beta to be released to the public around March 2010!
