If you want to further improve the accuracy of your shots in Halo: Reach, you need to make some configurations in Halo 3. If you are firing on long distance, regardless of the weapon you are using, you must slow down when shooting and take your time to reset the bloom and fire again. You cannot simply open fire on your enemy and expect that all of your bullets will hit your target.

More often than not, you will be dead before you can hit your enemy if you are a trigger happy player. Always remember that the first 2 or 3 shots are not very important, but after these three shots, you need to learn the proper timing to hit your enemy with impeccable accuracy. This is a vast advantage for you, especially if your enemy hasn’t spotted you yet. This technique is also very effective if you are using an automatic fire needle rifle. If you are engaged in a 1 on 1 battle, the best thing that you can do to improve your accuracy is to jump or strafe.

And for the last tip, in case you don’t know it yet, holding the trigger of the automatic fire needle rifle longer, you will be able to shot at full speed. However, even while you are using this method, you still need to slow down and follow the first technique that I have mentioned above, let the bloom reset and fire again.

Within the game there are basically three main types of units that you will have major control over. They consist of ground troops or your infantry. Your air force and your ground vehicles or units. Each one of these units will have certain special abilities and several different types of sub units but in general you can learn a basic strategy that will give you an advantage over other players. Its called the paper rock scissors game.

Basically what you need to know is that ground infantry have an advantage over air units, air units have an advantage over ground vehicles and ground vehicles have an advantage over ground infantry.

Understanding this should help you decide how to position your troops more effectively when engaged in a battle. So in other words instead of just running in or flying in and putting all your troops together in one big mashup, attacking everything in site. You should take the time to set your troops up in groups, maybe mix them a little but in general keep your units organized so you can send them in different directions easily. This will allow you to send your air units in together to destroy the enemys ground vehicles, or send the infantry units to attack the enemies air vehicles and etc etc, the paper rock scissors game.

Doing this correctly will minimize the damage your units take and maximize the damage they inflict. Practicing unit organization is a key aspect in being a top player.

The 1st scenario is sandbox, there you need to look for the exact location of the skull, grab a bubble shield and then evade all the lasers, after you are close to the wall, you drop the bubble shield to protect yourself from the lasers.

Then other scenarios are easy to get, you just need to convert into the oracle to get them, you just need to find the exact place and then follow the video path.

Also, another archievement is 7 on 7 you have to enter a matchmaking playlist with exactly 7EXP on the 7th of the month.

There are a few credit exploits in Reach, and Bungie has stated that these ways will not get you banned. These include the famous ONI base credit farming, and gruntpocolypse. So to start off, I will explain how the ONI base farming works.

ONI Sword Base

Load up sword base on “mission start” and set the difficulty to normal. Also set the scoring to team. Skulls will not make any difference. When the game starts, just run past all the enemies until you get inside a little garage looking area. There should be some ammo and armor lock power ups as well as a target locater. Pick up the target locater and while having it equipped, run to the back of the garage (farthest away from enemies) and this will trigger a checkpoint. When you get the checkpoint, go up until you can see a lot of enemies (without leaving the garage) and use the target designator in the middle of all these enemies. For a person that has never done this, you should receive over 100 credits per 5 seconds. There are 2 strikes in the locater, don’t waste time waiting for the second one. Just restart your checkpoint and repeat until you start getting no more credits per run.

Flawless Cowboy

This is a technique that will allow you to complete a mission and have it register as having completed a mission without dying, and completed on heroic or harder, as well as getting commendations for completing a Reach campaign mission. What you want to do is go to the mission you find easiest to complete, set the difficulty on Heroic and just get to the end (doesn’t matter if you die). When the final cutscene is in motion, hit start and save & quit. When you resume the mission, it will take about 30 seconds, but you should receive 200 credits and be returned to the main menu. Simply do this until your credits hit 0 per run.

Gruntpocolypse

This technique is different from the previous two in that you aren’t just having a easy fly-by time. You spend 7-12 minutes shooting grunts in the head working on headshot challenges and more. The best level to do this on is Corvette, simply exit the door on the left and go halfway up the ramp on your left and shoot all the enemies and try to get multikills. When ammo is low, return to the safe room and refill ammo. This one is pretty self explained. To play this mode, select cooperative > score attack on the playlist menu. 

Other means of experience

I find it fast to get exp when you are playing with friends on Invasion. If you have a good enough team to stop the enemies from capturing the areas, as well as taking the objectives when it is your turn, you can literally finish a game in 5 minutes and get about 1000cr.

Alternatively, you can leave your console on all night and get exp while you sleep, but will probably take a lot of deaths. I have not tested this, but I think it may work.

There is obviously many ways to do this, you can have skilled players and run whatever your favorite map is. This is over the map alpha site. Okay the first thing you need to do is survive to the bonus rounds. It isn’t that hard but here are some pointers. First have two people posted on both sides facing where the covenant will come out. They will both play seperate rolls each going for the maximum points they can. One will play the roll of slayer. The other will be the defender.

The slayer should carry a pistol at all times. Secondary weapon would be recommended Carbine or Needler for later rounds. The defender should have a plasma pistol at all times. Secondary would be a SMG for drones. First few rounds have the slayers drop grunts and jackals with the pistol with the defender knocking shields off as needed. Later rounds coordinate slayer and defender to drop brutes by plasma pistol overcharging followed by pistol headshot for maximum points. Before the end of each round have a defender grab the rockets off the wall in front of where the dropships spawn enemies. When the last round is over have the slayer grab a fuel rod gun. Rocket should take the place of the Defenders SMG. Fuel rod will take the place of the Slayers carbine.

When all waves and rounds are finished in the sets is the bonus rounds. When this happens point all your rockets and fuel rod guns at the vents above the elevators, those are where the grunts will drop out of. As soon as you see the first grunt at your vent start firing. DON’T start firing if you see them at somebody elses vents wait till they are at yours. Once you do take your shot and just keep firing. Another thing you can do is wait till you get stuck (very dangerous tatic) and then fire at the vents an you will get lots of death from the grave medals. When you fire at the vents it kills alot of the grunts from the explosion and they drop their plasma grenades which helps toward your kills. Just rinse and repeat this method on each round till you have 1 million points. Below is a guide on how to kill enemies most efficently.

*TIP* Have somebody getting each individual weapon medal until the 4th set. Grav hammer can keep getting dream crusher with just beat downs. Also not recommended to swing hammer in bunch of grunts during catch. It can cause their grenades to explode.

Normal Units.

1. Grunts
     A. Pistol/carbine headshot.
2. Jackals.
     A. Shoot gap in shields with pistol followed by headshot.
     B. SMG spray gap followed by body.
     C. Plasma pistol overchagre into shield followed by pistol headshot.
3. Drones.
     A. SMG spray.
     B. Pistol headshot
4. Brutes/Jetpack Brutes
     A. Plasma Pistol overcharge followed by pistol headshot.
     B. Repeated carbine fire into head.
     C. Needler super combine
     D. (with catch) Stick when they are throwing stickies.
     E. (Close quarters) Plasma pistol overcharge armor off then assassinate them. (best for black eye)
5. Invisible Brutes
     A. Same as normal brutes just no lock on and would recommend VISR on.
6. Hunters
     A. Stick continously.
     B. SMG fire and get their attention and have somebody fire in the orange spot on their back. Repeat process till dead.
7. Chieftans
     A. Grav Hammer
            1. Plasma Pistol over charge shields down followed by carbine fire in head till helmet is off then headshot.
            2. Let them charge you then jump to the side. Keep your aim on them while you jump then assassinate them. (Mildly risky)
     B. Fuel Rod
            1. Plasma Pistol over charge shields down followed by carbine fire in the head till helmet is off then headshot.
            2. Get in close they wont shoot fuel rod if your in their face and avoid melee and just shoot. (Mildly Risky)

Elite Units

1. Red Drones.
      A. Plasma pistol overcharge shields off followed by headshot or SMG fire.
      B. Repeated SMG fire.
2. Gold Hunters.
      A. Same as normal hunters.

First, you have to pick your map.  This can be one of th emost difficult parts because you have to kinda know what you want your track about, and the limitations/trustworthyness of you racers.  You can pick big open maps, and just mark the outline of the track with radio antenas or boxes, and trust the racers to stay and play fairly, or you can pick a closed map or area, where players truly have not way to get out of bounds (or to the best of your abilities anyway).

Next, I have found that the best thing to do is decide the main features and the starting block of your track.  We do this for we can evenly space these things apart, and since they are most likey the hardest parts to make of the track, it is best to get these out of the way so you know if your idea can be brought to a reality or not.  If they cannot, then you know early that you have to switch maps, or scrap that particular idea.

Now, connect these main element to each other, in an interesting way.  Use large boxes as blockers if you are making a closed map, or just draw paths to each element if on an open map (I suggest make more interesting paths than straight lines if you are on an open map.)  Remember, you can always erase, or go back a few minutes if you time your saves right.

This next step, I really only see you doing if it is a closed map.  Make sure that there is no way out.  Generall the cause of getting out, is either dropping from a high place that dosen’t have a proper wall, or has a hole in the premade wall, or man cannons, so focus your efforts to these areas.  Also a couple of friends would not hurt, since they will most likley think of ways to ‘cheat’ your map that you never would have thought of.

Now the last, and the most fun step.  Race with your friends!  Do not underestimate how much fun you can get from a properly designed map, specially of the transitions are easy and it actually feels like you are racing instead of making U-turns everywhere, and having to start and stop.
